The 2014 season was the first for the “modern” Post 94 program. Although some form of Post 94 Baseball had existed for several years, it had really been a “Porter County” base sponsored by both Valparaiso Charles Pratt Post 94 and Chesterton Post 170. Valparaiso resident/American Legion “superman” Joe Kusiak oversaw the Post 94/170 Porter County team for many years, and mentored/assisted Dan Sherman to compile a team, schedule games, and helped establish a new partnership with Valparaiso High School — so that Post 94 could play home games on the Valparaiso High School varsity baseball field. The 2014 Post 94 team officially competed at the American Legion Juniors level (ages 15-17) — although due to a (then) lack of teams in northern Indiana — played several games against Senior level (age 16-19) teams. The 2014 team consisted entirely of players residing in Valparaiso. Those players included: Alex Coil, Bobby Lee, Conner Tenhove, Eric Klobucar, Freddy Meccia, Jake Sherman, Jared McMaster, Jared Thompson, Jordon Swenson, Kyle Zellers, Max Behrend, Patrick Kelly, Patrick Meccia, Ray Kreloff, Robert Kreloff, Robert Blauner, Sam Klemz, Sean White, Travis Sperry, Zach Bales and Zach Moneta. Dan Sherman, Jim Daubenheyer, Paul Swenson and Terry Kelly neaded the managerial/coaching staff. The team finished with an 8-16 record, but 5 losses were against Seniors teams, and 4 losses were to IN State powerhouse Kokomo Juniors.Valpar
